Memphis, Tenn. (November 12, 2012) – Hannah Conrad, a senior at St. Agnes Academy, has been named a C Spire Wireless Academic All-Stars Award winner.
Conrad is one of six students in the Greater Memphis area who received this week’s award for excellence in Art. C Spire Wireless will recognize more than 160 students during the 2012-2013 school year. Conrad and other weekly winners will be honored at a luncheon at the Hilton Memphis, Thursday, May 2, 2013.
Conrad is a top student who has the heart and soul of an artist. She draws, paints and creates with ease, holds a 3.77 weighted grade point average and plans to major in industrial design in college. Conrad is quick, inventive, smart and has the ability to simplify a difficult subject in a way that usually comes with years of experience. When teachers need a designer for a project, Conrad’s name comes to mind because she is “dependable and enthusiastic.”
As a student in the Advanced Placement Art class, Conrad never misses a deadline and always takes advantage of extra studio time when it is offered. She understands that to produce high quality artwork, one must persevere and sift through ideas and concepts to create unique and compelling compositions.
The C Spire Wireless Academic All-Stars program was conceived to identify and recognize high school students for excellence in academics, school leadership and community service. Now in its 7th year, the C Spire Academic All-Stars Awards are presented weekly for 28 weeks during the academic year from nominations submitted by school administrators.
Judges include educators from Rhodes College, The University of Memphis, LeMoyne-Owen College and Christian Brothers University. Each Sunday during the year, C Spire Academic All-Stars are announced in The Commercial Appeal.
